Elephant Festival
The Elephant Festival is one of the most well -known festivals of Jaipur. It is a charming festival celebrated every year in March on the occasion of Holi. The elephants are richly ornamented and the Chaugan ground is the venue for the ocassion. Some popular competition of this festival are polo-matches, tug-of-war and the other equally famous contest is the ‘Best Decorated Elephant’ contest.
Kite Festival
Kite Festival is a well-known festival of Jaipur. Since kite flying is enjoyed by people of all age-groups, on the day of Makar Sankranti, people actively take part in the celebration. Kites of various colors and sizes cover the sky like a beautiful umbrella. The festival is accompanied by delicious food and music.
Teej Festival
Teej Festival can be only enjoyed in colorful Jaipur. The festival is celebrated mainly by the married women where they worship their husband in the form of Lord Shiva. Swings are hung from trees and are adorned with leaves and flowers. The entire picture looks colorful as the girls rejoice by singing songs, decorating themselves by applying Mehendi on their palms and playing games. People dress up in beautiful traditional clothes. |
